001 The Wonderful Island:

Where the tales began

This is the island which witch Black Cat and her friends live on.
Territory: 5320 km^2 (the island itself is 5170 km^2) Population: about 5.06M
Capital Penglai(蓬萊) city: about 1.6M
2rd largest city: Hanahara (花原, formed from the wokou's base), about 0.9M
Half of Taoyundao is mountain area and only about 0.5M people live there.
The highest mountain is Penglaixianshun (蓬萊仙山, Mount Penglaixian, 3055m)

History:
Ancient Chinese adventurers and traders arrive the island several hundred years ago. Some of them resided there and built a city named Peng-Lai (蓬萊), it means the residence of celestial beings (仙人), and this city would be the capital of Taoyun in the future.

As times went by, the Japanese pirates (Wokou en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wokou ) were defeated by the Ming dynasty and fled to South China Sea. They built a new base on another side of Taoyundao (the Taoyun island). Those wokou established ties with their mother land, and brought more Japanese to the island. They contacted and traded with Chinese immigrants, also conflicted with them sometimes.

The German decided to claim the Taoyundao and nearby islands during their 19th century Pacific Expansion. Settled by Germany in the late 1800's. Nearby Vietnam, claimed by European Rival, France, made the Germans decide to claim the islands and decided to build them up to keep a colony there. The German Settlers struggled through monsoons and typhoons. Chinese Laborers where brought in to build up the island and became a good part of the island chains population. The Germans managed to keep the Spanish from evicting them from the Islands and after Spanish American War, the made a border with the occupying Americans who claimed the nearby Philippines.

During World War I, The Empire of Japan occupied The Island Colony, setting it up as a puppet state, the Republic of Taoyundao. Many Japanese artisans were brought in to start up industry in the colony.

Republic of Taoyundao today:
It's a small country with about 5000 km^2 of territory and 5 millions of population, but it's wealthy and advanced. There lives Chinese(~35%), Japanese(~30%), Vietnamese(~10%), and other migrations. Today many westerner also live there. Buddhism and Catholicism (from Philippine and Vietnam) are the largest two religions on the  island. The official languages are Chinese, English, and Japanese. Japanese  immigrants prefer the nickname they gave - Gensokyo( Ref: touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Gensokyo )

There is a volcano, named Mount Penglaixian, locates near the center of the island, and it's 3000 meters in altitude, and looks similar to the Mount Fuji. Religionary miracles happened here frequently, so the Catholic Church declared a sanctuary on this island, and set a archepiscopate for the country.

Taoyundao is wealthy because of both hi-tech industry and petroleum. Tourism and financial industry on Taoyundao also well developed. Taoyundao has declared itself as a permanent neutral nation, but it has a mighty military force. It plays balance among powers, such as China, America, and ASEAN. For example, it bought F-18s and F-15s for it's air force, and bought 022 FACs, 054A frigates, and 056 corvettes for it's navy.

In Taoyundao, there lives a mighty witch, named Black Cat. Let's start story from her...

Witch Black Cat And Her Living Legs

Famous witch Black Cat is going to a banquet of witches and wizards. She asks her close friend Jack to do her a favor.

"Hi Jack, I will fly away soon to meet some peers in a banquet, and I need your help."
"That's ok. What do you need me to do?"
"Thank you. Please take care of those babes..." Black Cat takes her legs off.
"Wow, you don't bring your legs with you? Why?" Jack asks.
"Well, we capable magicians usually can fly by magic and don't that need legs to move. If I go there with my legs, they may look down me. Wait a second... BALIGROPUHOM! KYOYA!" Black casts a spell on her detached legs.
"Your legs...! They become little girls! Amazing!"
"Haha, I incarnate my legs so that you can accompany them more naturally. Please be good to them, though they look like independent, they are still parts of me. If they feel pissed off or sad, it will destroy my mood and make my heart ache."
"Understand. I'll try my best. Actually they are pretty cute to me, I'll treat them tenderly in the first place without your reminding."
"Oh, Jack... Just as expected, you are really my best friend! Thanks again, I shall leave now."
"See you later. Maybe I will like your legs more than you ;) Or you can just let me adopt them, hahaha!"
"No problem! Furthermore, I can let you adopt my hands, my chest, my hip, and other parts of me! Finally you can adopt my head, and let it to lead my parts, then all of those parts can make up a heavenly beauty for you! ^^ "

Witch Black Cat: Remote Feeling of Her Components

Jack always treats Alisa and Siren very kindly. He truly loves Black Cat, so he also loves Alisa and Siren as parts of Black Cat, not just for pleasing Black Cat. In fact, Siren holds Black Cat's sweetness and cowardice, and Black Cat's curiosity and rudeness consist in Alisa. Even without Black Cat's magic spell, they are already there. They are just the most sensitive and vulnerable parts of Black Cat; they are Black Cat's weaknesses. However, without them, Black Cat won't be whole. Jack doesn't know it, but he can feel something about Black Cat from Alisa and Siren.

Witch Black Cat: The Birthday of Alisa and Siren

After Black Cat became a witch, each of her body parts already possessed a portion of her existence. They are components of the witch Black Cat. However, Black Cat wasn't satisfied: those components of her performed just like "normal" separated body parts when they were vested to act independently. Without enough resource, her "independent" components still needed her brain's help to carry out their own existences, but her brain had it's existence: the total consciousness of Black Cat herself. It got tired because of pretending itself to be other components.

Black Cat didn't want to drive her brain to the limit. One day when she was taking a shower, she got an idea. "Maybe I can embody the existences of my components with the help of magic?" she thought.

Black Cat took off her legs and mounted magic pearls on them. Then she projected their existences to form "images" of personalities of them. "......Gathume Pizipon Qwarao!" two cat-shaped fairies gradually appeared with sounds of Black Cat's spell.

"Ok! My dear little friends, welcome! What's your name?" Black Cat asked.

"Alisa!"

"Siren..."

Black Cat smiled. She knew that her components could enjoy lovely relationships between them from now on.
