202 A Lazy Way To Drink
Ranko is a head-detachable friend of Ayase. She was ever a normal girl, but once she was cursed because of stepping into a forbidden area blunderingly. Ranko didn't make a fuss over separated head since she was blundering enough, but when Ayase (refer to http://taoyundao.blogspot.tw/2014/05/rival-as-best-friend-ayase-one-of-witch.html ) saw her, she considered Ranko as a new monster-well, of course Ayase wouldn't say anything about her detachable legs-and chased her. Poor Ranko was kicked by Ayase's "Scared Sword" many times.
After the resolving of the misunderstanding, Ayase became Ranko's friend. She visits Ranko many times. However, Ayase often feels disagreeable about Ranko's misbehavior--
"Hey! Ranko! What are you doing? Can't you see how bad you are?"
Ranko is an interesting character. We could have her be a regular friend of Ayase, who has to be told not to take off her head. But she finds her head so heavy. Also coughs and sneezes make it come off as well.
回覆刪除This scene could have happened in the school gym, Ranko is tired after class and thinks she's alone in the gym. However Ayase sees as Ranko takes off her head a puts the energy drink bottle right into her throat. There Ayase scolds her, as she warned her she had to keep her ability secret from the other girls.
The forbidden area Ranko went into was a sacred Lagoon that had an opening to the sea through a volcanic cave where Oysters lined it's walls. Ranko found a pearl in the oyster bed, but didn't heed the local legends of the area that in the old days widows used to swim to the bed to grab out oysters to find pearls, but the sea goddess would exact a price and take one of the widows occasionally to turn into her Mystical Octopus Servants.
Legend stated that the Mystical Octopus Servants would find those women who dove for pearls and choose one to enchant the head off her body. The body would be taken by one of the Octopus to use to serve The Sea Goddess by luring Sailors who offended the goddess into reefs and other dangers. (In Taoyundao, the Mermaid/Sirens don't have have fish halves, but instead have the heads of Octopus.) Head of the diver would be transformed into another Mystical Octopus Servant.
Ranko was attacked by the Mystical Octopus, but she managed to keep her head from falling into their clutches and used her superior swimming skills to get away from them. However her head became detachable. Ayase attacked Ranko later, as she sensed the Octopus Siren Magic in Ranko's body, as she and her fellow exorcists have done battle with the Octopus Sirens before. Later, when Ayase realized that Ranko was only cursed by the Octopus Sirens, she let her alone but warned her to keep her condition a secret. The Octopus Sirens are still looking for Ranko to take her head and her body to serve their Sea Goddess for her transgression into their holy oyster bed.
Since it's a curse, Ranko must concentrate herself to keep her head on her neck. Her detachable is a punishment, not an ability ;)
刪除But she is optimistic and lazy, so she doesn't feel bad to let her head detached. Ayase is much more serious, she usually scolds Ranko. Besides, Ayase doesn't like to see surreal phenomena caused from non-Christian powers. Ranko's "ability" is too heretic to Ayase.
Your setting of those body robbers in Taoyundao is creative. Ranko is a lucky girl because she still could command her separated body since it was captured by Mystical Octopus Servant's magic power. Ranko always appreciates her body for that. She believes her body has affections for her.
Ignorant girl is also invincible! XD
Because Ranko wants to meet her body as another one instead of being one with it, she usually keeps her head detached sub-consciously.

My idea, using some of your good points...
刪除Ranko is one of the best athletic swimmers in the world, but she had yet to compete semi-professionally. Ranko took more care of her body than most, honing it to perfections as she became the best Swimmer in Taoyundao. Unknowing she built up a very strong Mind Body Connection. She sensed what her body always needs. Her body performs extra hard for her when she needs it too.
When the Octopus Sirens saw Ranko swimming in the Sacred Lagoon, they recognized her body was in deed super fit and desired it to put into the service of their goddess, as also government of Taoyundao had closed the Lagoon as a Strict Wild Life Sanctuary as an alarming amount of swimmers disappeared over the years in that Lagoon.
But when they enchanted Ranko's head off her swimming body, to their surprise Ranko's body fought them off. Ranko's Mind Body Connection was so strong, it could sense her head was in trouble and fought the Mystical Octopus Servants for her head. Ranko's Body escaped the Lagoon with her head, but now Ranko's head and Ranko's body were two seperate beings. But Ranko's head was not afraid as she could still sense what her body wanted.
Now Ranko's Head and Body pose as a normal girl, however since they telepathically know what the other wants, it seems they are one person. Ranko's Head refers to her body privately as "Oldest Friend" and Ranko's Body calls her head "Ranko". After she revealed to her Grand Father, a wise man her curse, she was told she was not the first to be cursed in the family. Her great grandfather, Ranma Saotome, had the unfortunate curse of being turned into a woman when ever Cold Water hit him. She was told further that her name Ranko came from the female name her great grandfather would assume when he was transformed as a woman.

I find that I like Ayase more than before. She is so religious and faithful, but she also cares about her friends. Black Cat and Ranko's heretic deeds often annoy Ayase, but she won't go mad over them too much because Ayase always keep understanding with them. Really a good and considerate girl~
I am glad you like that idea, maybe if there was a series about her, it would be Ranko 1/2? or since she's technically just a head now, 1/6? I'll let you decide if it's Akane...
刪除I have an idea that Nana and Nini(Dark Witch Yumeko's servants) will cause trouble for Ranko as one of them could want her head or her body. My idea, Nana and Nini become so competitive for Yumeko's affections, they become enemies and decide they need another head/body to complete themselves so they can court Yumeko away from the other one. Perhaps Nini The Head will steal Ranko's body and Nana The Body could take the head of another one of our detachable beauties (Euphemia?). We'll work on that idea later.
Ranko is an attractive character, but it's a pity that I don't have her other pics to manipulate :(

刪除I will like this scene the most: when Mei-Xian meets Jin Chun-Xiang. That's must to be very emotional! Jin can face Mei-Xian and still keeps her kindness and selfless love, but Mei-Xian will lost her grace. Her emotion will become way too complicated as I said:" For Mei-Xian, it's very hard to face Jin Chun-Xiang. Jin is not Huang, but she acts like Huang, thinks like Huang, and loves Mei-Xian like Huang loved her daughter. Mei-Xian can't treat Jin as a stranger; this fake mother has the same personality with her real mother's. When Mei-Xian meets Jin Chun-Xiang, the portion of Mei-Xian's existence which belongs to Huang will be freaked out. She knows Jin Chun-Xiang is her mother's best and greatest successor, but she just can't face Jin straight..."

The second will be that Black Cat comes back to be Huang Ru-Jun(refer to 013), and then she goes to the church. She will wear her white skirt, and pray sincerely. Oh, I just like to see her sincere face ^Q^ Since normally black cat is a prideful girl.

The third goes to Ayase. Let Ayase hug her damaged legs and cry after a harsh battle. Ayase usually acts like a tough holy warrior, but she is actually a vulnerable young girl. That will be a heart-broken scene, but it also warm.
My another idea is that let an angel live in Ayase's body, and she is the source of Ayase's scared power. Sometimes Ayase will watch her inner angel with a gentle smile.
