015 As Flowers In A Mirror, As The Moon In Water
The Substitute Of Huang Chun-Xiang
Please read "005 The Filthiest Holy Lady" to understand Huang Chun-Xiang if you haven't before read this one, thank you.
The Mirror Devil was the last one salvaged by Chun-Xiang before she died. It gave up all of it's wicked power and cultivated it's mind to chase after the Way(道, Tao), and finally it became a xian, the Jin-Xian (鏡仙, the demigod of mirrors).
One day after Chun-Xiang's death, Jin-Xian went to Chun-Xiang's tomb. When it saw Chun-Xian's immortal legs, it recalled that how many ordeals Chun-Xiang had suffered for misreable beings through that pair of legs. Jin-Xian fell in pain, and it decided to succeed Chun-Xian on rescuing misguided surreal beings. It would become another Huang Chun-Xiang.
Jin-Xian had the ability to keep someone's whole image reflected in it's mirror, and it had seen the last face of Chun-Xiang. Jin-Xian used that image to reform itself. Not only appearance but also inherence, Jin-Xian wanted itself to be transformed as similar as Chun-Xiang as it could. However, there was a problem, a big problem-- the legs.
Huang Chun-Xiang had her legs, and she used them to absorb miserable souls and wicked auras, but Jin-Xian had none of them. Without legs, Jin-Xian couldn't be another Chun-Xiang.
To solve this problem, Jin-Xian found a walking mushroom monster. The mushroom monster also had been helped by Chun-Xiang, so Jin-Xian successfully convinced the mushroom monster to be the lower half of the "new" Chun-Xiang to return the favor. Walking Mushroom monsters have transformed stipes as their legs, so Jin-Xian could easily reshape the monster's stipes into female legs. The monster's mycelia converted to be feet for absorbing bad surreal energy and poor souls from the land. Jin-Xian even acquired a pair of cursed black shoes to substitute Chun-Xiang's embroidered hair shoes, since cursed shoes could gather negative beings together.
Jin-Xian trained the mushroom monster to adapt to it's new form. When the "lower half" was ready, they started to unify themselves as one entity, the new Huang Chun-Xiang. Both of them gave up their original identities, and their existences were fused gradually. Chun-Xiang's whole image which kept in Jin-xian's mirror now became the new self of them, then "new" Chun-Xiang got her existence. Jin Chun-Xiang (鏡 春香, Chun-Xiang in the mirror), that's her new name.
Jin Chun-Xiang started her journey around the Taoyundao. She did as Huang Chun-Xiang had done, though she wasn't as capable as the original one. More and more people and surreal beings became acquaint with the new lady, and the memories and thoughts of Huang Chun-Xiang over all Taoyundao converged toward the new "Chun-Xiang". That made Jin Chun-Xiang become more and more similar to the original one. Finally miracle happened, Jin got the entire memory, affection and personality of Huang's. Jin is not Huang, but she has the same spirit as Huang's one. She is the only and perfect substitute of Huang Chun-Xiang in the world (not mention Jin's ability and body).
If there exists a poor soul, Jin Chun-Xiang will walk toward it. Her steps are so gentle and graceful, the poor soul and it's bad aura will be attracted by Jin's black cursed shoes. Jin's feet will absorb them like mushroom absorbs nutrients. The soul will be transported upward, and Jin's legs will filter bad aura out and bear it for the soul. Some cracks will be formed in Jin's legs at the expense of it. Cracks agonize Jin Chun-Xiang a lot, but she cares nothing for that. Later the broken soul will be sent to Jin's mirror, it will rest there for a while for recovering and reassembling. It's sorrowful and aggravating emotions will make Jin feel very sad, but Jin will contain it with infinite kindness. No matter how much it hurts, Jin Chun-Xiang always keep her smile. She knows that she has no right to feel pain since she has to rescue miserable ones.
As a demigoddess, Jin Chun-Xiang is very weak but also very great. If you see her collapsed in the street, please take care of her with love and appreciation. Positive affections and emotions can heal her wound and give her more power. Such that, she can rescue more surreal beings!
For Mei-Xian, it's very hard to face Jin Chun-Xiang. Jin is not Huang, but she acts like Huang, thinks like Huang, and loves Mei-Xian like Huang loved her daughter. Mei-Xian can't treat Jin as a stranger; this fake mother has the same personality with her real mother's. When Mei-Xian meets Jin Chun-Xiang, the portion of Mei-Xian's existence which belongs to Huang will be freaked out. She knows Jin Chun-Xiang is her mother's best and greatest successor, but she just can't face Jin straight...
So the Chun Xiang memorial is still there, but the Xian that was The Mirror Devil created a new Chun Xiang using a mushroom monster to transform into new legs? Or did it take Chun-Xiang's living legs?
回覆刪除1.Yes. Chun-Xiang devoted herself to help so many surreal beings in ancient time of Taoyundao, she even reversed the bad spiritual environment. Her analogue in our world shall be Mazu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazu_(goddess)
刪除BTW, Mei-Xian's analogue is Zuangzi ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhuangzi ), and Black Cat'a analogue is-- young Confucius XD
2. The original Chun-Xiang's legs are still there. Jin-Xian (xian of mirror) didn't dare to do such thing, she wouldn't insult her idol. Those legs are transformed from walking mushroom's stipe and mycelia.
And, Jin-Xian is not Jin Chun-Xiang. She unified herself with transformed mushroom monster to be Jin Chun-Xiang, and both of them don't exist now. The new one received the miracle, so she became totally the same with Huang Chun-Xiang in spiritual side.
1. I'll look up Zuangzi!
回覆刪除2. Wanted to make sure that the memorial is still there, as that memorial will be an important place in the future of the stories I have planned.
Yes, it's still there. Many people and surreal being visit it frequently.
回覆刪除Huang Chun-Xiang had become a legendary heroine. She is the Mazu of Taoyundao.
