Be aware, some flying-head monsters are really evil. They usually like to seduce young men. They can get magic power and absorb bio-energy from those poor(or, maybe lucky?) guys. They may fuse some wicked surreal beings or tissues to their body parts to gain extra power or ability, but those flying-head monster beauties must reform their own bodies frequently.

回覆刪除We should describe why in the world Witches would be attracted to Detachment Magic. And the answer is that it's the secret to Eternal Youth! Detachment Magic can help you maintain and shape yourself so that you always stay young, but there are challenges...
1. Craft: Your mastery of the art of Detachment Magic must always be a lifelong goal. Witches who are to lazy to keep up their craft will eventually end up with a body that is too messed up or unfix-able to keep in it's original shape. Some try to hire imps and other unearthly creatures to be bodily mechanics for them, but it's best if a Witch learn how to do it herself.
2. Be taught detachment magic at a youthful age, because the best you'll be able to maintain your youth and beauty will at what ever age you started at. So if you started learning Detachment Magic at the age of 47, you'll find it much easier to keep yourself looking 47 years old than trying to make yourself any younger. Detachment Witches don't age anymore, but instead fight to maintain their body at it's present age. Magical maintenance is paramount, as they body no longer maintains it's self naturally any more. Other wise they will slowly deform into some horrible monstrosity.
3. Practitioners of Detachment Magic who want to look much younger will find it easier to steal the body of a person much younger or more beautiful than they are. The stolen body will fight to reject the Witch who steals it, but eventually after years of in-habitation & bodily maintenance, the stolen body will accept it's new master. Though it will still be harder to maintain that the witch's original body. Evil Witches are the most likely to steal others bodies of course, however all practitioners of Detachment Magic will eventually want a secondary body to grow their powers as a Detachment Magician. Black Cat has many bodies as her power level is gigantic for a Detachment Magician of her age, mainly due in part from the training she received from her mother.
4. Most witches are not on Black Cat, Kirinrin, and Mei Xian's level of bodily control. Most of them settle for being young and not progressing further than that because they don't have the talent, the are not that ambitious, or they just have the inner power to learn that much mastery. Taoyundao has so many Flying Head Monsters, because they are witches whom never gotten beyond bodily detachment.
5. Some Detachment Witches instead prey on others to steal the youthful juices of their body. The Pennalagan which drinks the blood of pregnant women, is one such which. The Boo Hag, which steals the forms of others is another such witch.

A good viewpoint of witches. They were ever human, and they pursue the super magical power. Body detachment is a portion of deformation, withes are really good at it. Let me list the differences between witches and other beings:

2.Compare with other religious characters, witches usually don't have beliefs. They are scientists of supernatural things. They like to R&D, they abilities are formed from their knowledge.
3.ESPs (like Kirinrin) get their powers because of their natural properties. They may practice for using their abilities hard, but they don't need to research the knowledge of their own power. They are athletes of surreal world.
4.Taoists are somehow like witches since they also develop supernatural skills, but the majority of them have religious beliefs and straight moral self-requirements (like the Huang's family), and others can be considered as philosophers since their goal is to access the Way of the nature (like the Li's family, especially Mei-Xian).
5.Not all of witches are good at body deformation skills. Tamura was concentrated on fighting powers, so she was so strong. She could only separate her body to fight.
6.As you said, inferior evil witches often tries their best to steal bodies, and they spend a lot of efforts to tame and maintain those stolen bodies.

witches also may do cults or worship something if they can get or learn anything from that, but they won't have the faith.

Not much is known of Anat, but she appeared in Egyptian, Sumerian, Babylonian, and Canaanite Mythologies and was even said by some to be the wife of Jehovah(The JudeoChristianMuslim God), however devout Jews soundly denounced this back in the day.

As for Anat, I would like to portray her as a usurper along with Baal who tried to take over Jehovah's worship. Thus they would be Jehovah's enemies.

The idea that the Witches of Anat would be rebellious and demanding totally fits in with the goddess they worship. Anat regularly threatened El(The Canaanite stand in for God) if she didn't get her way. And El always relented to her threats.
When Anat(Sumerian form Ianna) tried to seduce the demigod Gilgamesh, he rebuked her and reminded her of how poorly she treated all her previous lovers. Anat got furious and went to the head god An(The Sumerian form of El) and demanded the bull of heaven to kill Gilgamesh with, or she would split An's head open.
