    Yang Pei-Yi, one of Ayase's churchmates, is a gifted girl. She has the purest soul, and everyone believes that she is blessed. Everytime she prays for anyone, it always works. Pei-Yi was addressed as "Princess" by church mates.

    However, Pei-Yi's parents were lured into a devil church. They also brought Pei-Yi to that church. That church found Pei-Yi's supernatural potential. They enchanted Pei-Yi, separated her head and body, extracted Pei-Yi's soul and stored it in a dark magic vessel. Pei-Yi was transformed into their dark deity.

    Fortunately, Ayase finally found it. She assulted the devil church for rescuing Pei-Yi. Whe she met Pei-Yi, she used her Holy Crosier to wash out evil powers on Pei-Yi and purified Pei-Yi's soul.

    After Pei-Yi took back herself, Ayase handed Pei-Yi her right leg. "Take it with you, the Holy Crosier will create a holy field to protect you from evil power. It will bring faith back to your soul. Now you shall go back carefully, I still need to extinguish remaining evils." Ayase said.

    "But... Ayase, how can you fight without the Holy Crosier?"
    "Don't worry, my princess. I have my Scared Sword. For a true warrior, the sword is enough for her to fight."
    "Ayase... You are truly the heroine, truly."

    The worshippers of the Devil Church are Gnostics, a heretical sect of Christianity that believes in the equality of good and evil as they are both knowledge, and knowledge is real power. They believe in a higher god than Jehovah/Yahweh of Christianity, and don't believe that Jesus was the Son Of God/God himself. They believe that Jesus was merely a person who achieved communion with the higher god that they call the Logos. The Logos created the Demi-Urge(Yahweh/Jehovah) and the Demi-Urge created the world, but created it imprefectly as he ruined it in an effort to form a mate for itself.

    The Church would see a powerful conduit like Pei-Yi as opportunity to create a divine being in communion with the Logos like Jesus was. They probably separated her head and body to create a being of perfect goodness and evilness. The Gnostics see the flesh(body) as inherently evil and see the spirit(Her head) as inherently good. By separating the two, they could create a being that was both perfectly evil and perfectly good.
